Yoga4 NHS Staff
The Yoga4NHS staff wellbeing programme is an evidence-based course of six one-hour sessions delivered live on Zoom by expert tutors trained by the Yoga In Healthcare Alliance charity. The programme equips staff with a personalised toolkit of mind-body practices to manage stress/anxiety, improve relaxation skills, and reduce risk of burnout. For three years until 12th September 2025, Yoga4NHS was accredited as 6 hours of CPD by the Royal College of General Practitioners. RCoGPs is no longer accrediting CPD in the same way, but our programme passed all evidence and efficacy tests while it was accredited, and our approach remains the same. Staff who complete Yoga4NHS Level 1 can do a further 6-hour Level 2 course, also accredited by the RCoGPs.

Yoga4NHS is a gentle protocol that can be done on a chair or on a yoga mat. No experience is required. Modified practice will be offered to meet the needs of all attendees. We offer a catch-up service in case you miss any sessions, well as supporting staff with a range of rich resources, including handouts and short video practice sessions. The focus for the programme is on breathing techniques, and mindfulness and relaxation practices. However, the physical postures in the protocol will stretch and strengthen major muscle groups, and to increase mobility in the spine and all major joints.

The content of these classes has been risk assessed for delivery over Zoom. All content is gentle, mindful, and breath-led. If you have any particular medical conditions that might affect your participation, please email Paul Fox at contactyoga4health@gmail.com.
